Flourescein Angiography
An angiogram is a simple procedure used to photograph the eye. A vegetable dye (flourescein) is in injected into a vein in the patients arm. The dye travels through the blood stream into the blood vessels in the eye, and photographs are taken of the eye. The dye illuminates the blood vessels in the retina which allows the retina specialist to further examine the blood vessels for leaks, breaks, or other abnormalities.
